Fort Knox Safes for home or office

Fri Oct 19 2007
Fort Knox safes offer peace of mind while you are away from your home or office. Valuables are protected from crime and fire inside a high quality Fort Knox safe

When you purchase a safe from Fort Knox, you can rest assured that you have made the best purchase possible.

The Maverick Series

The all new Maverick is a safe that really packs a value for a low price. Engineered with many exclusive Fort Knox features, such as our rack and pinion locking mechanism, deep recess and limited lifetime warranty. The Maverick gives you the most for the money.

Defender Series

For a conservative budget, the defender series offers uncompromised security without the cosmetic frills.

Here are just a few of the features that set Fort Knox Safes apart.

Reinforced Fire Doors:
Our new Reinforced Fire Door adds a layer of fire protection to either the 3/8" or 1/4" solid steel plate, then reinforces the door with an additional 10-gauge steel for added security (30% thicker steel than other composite type doors). This nearly doubles the standard fire protection with temperatures to 1680° within 90 minutes. Standard on the Yeager, Titan, Executive, Guardian and Vault Doors Executive 8240 and In-Swing models.
See diagram.

Exterior Finishes:
Fort Knox has a very extensive preparation and multi-stage paint process and uses only the finest professional auto paint available. Our state-of-the-art paint facility includes a state-of-the-art oven to bake on the paint for the most durable finish possible. Fort Knox is the original author of the "Lifetime Paint Warranty."

Interiors:
Fort Knox has made an interior of your safe Rock Solid. With our commitment to excellence, we don't just use glues and screws to adhere the interiors to the inside of the safe. We stud weld the fire board and shelving system to the metal interior. This means that your shelving brackets are connected, all the way through, rock solid quality. Fort Knox offers a synthetic carpet with a latex backing to insure resistance to elements such as moisture, heat and excessive wear. Our interior can also change with your needs. Our modular interior is again, flame resistant and will not attract or retain moisture. The soft carpeted shelves and gun racks provide protection for your guns and valuables and have an elegant appearance.

Clutch Driven Spinner Handle:
Our attractive, clutch-driven handles are designed to slip when excessive force is applied to prevent damage and foil attacks.

Heavy Gauge Steel and Double Reinforcing Welds:
Each Fort Knox safe uses American made steel with up to 80,000 psi tensile strength-it's truly tuff stuff! All welds are inspected to insure 100% penetration from the inside of the safe to the outside. Then we reinforce the entire structure with additional welds on the inside of the safe for optimum strength.

Reinforced Steel Liner:
For added security, Fort Knox offers an optional 10 gauge steel liner, the thickest in the industry. By having a thicker liner, a would-be burglar will have to attack twice. This will buy twice the time and twice the security.

1˝ Inch Locking Bolts & Star Corner Bolts:
Another first in the home and gun safe industry is our patented Star Corner Bolts. This puts a gear-driven, one and a half inch diameter locking bolt in each of the four corners of the door. This makes it virtually impossible to peel the corners of the door. Again, Fort Knox leads the industry in innovative design.

11/4" Certified Fire Protection:
This standard fire package has been tested and certified to keep the inside of the safe under 350°F, while outside temperatures reach 1450°F in 50 minutes. We use two continuous layers of 5/8" UL listed, type "C" fireboard insulation and a high temperature, heat sensitive expanding door seal for optimum protection. You deserve to be certain-don't settle for less!

Concealed Ball Bearing Hinges:
Our hinges are completely adjustable and tamperproof, without affecting our certified fire protection, and adds maximum security as a dead bolt strap. The door opens 100° for complete access to the interior yet prevents damage to nearby furniture, wall or even the safe body itself.

Relockers:
FOIL, Fail-safe Operational Internal ReLocker, insures total security. Even if the tumbler is destroyed, your vault will remain tightly locked.

Multi Bearing Hardplate:
Again, technical innovation in this application offers more security than raw weight. Hard plate will only slow down a drilling attempt. Multi bearings recessed into critical areas of the hard plate will virtually stop the drilling attempt. Fort Knox goes the extra mile to insure security.

Locking Mechanism:
Fort Knox uses only the finest lock available. Sargent & Greenleaf (S&G) has set the standard in combination locks for over 133 years. Optional locks include the new electronic, digital key pad lock. The electronic lock offers push-button ease with maximum security. It offers up to one million potential combinations and it automatically deactivates when four wrong codes are entered. In addition, all locks have passed rigid examination by Underwriters Laboratories.

Rack & Pinion Gear Drive Locking Mechanism:
Here is where a good comparison should come in. Our patented rack & pinion, bank-type locking mechanism is the most technically sophisticated and reliable locking system available. Most of the finer new cars manufactured today use rack & pinion steering because it is a stronger, more precise positive and maintenance-free system. We have also added a clutch to the handle to prevent damage from undue force on the handle.

Uni-Body Construction:
The Quadrafold door frame has been designed to be the strongest in the industry, providing superior strength in every situation. We have found that a Uni-body construction retains the natural strength of the steel. We have strategically folded the edge around the door making it the most secure body available and giving the door a deep recessed seat to make it virtually impossible to pry. The technical innovation offered by Fort Knox will give more security than raw weight.

Lifetime Warranty:
Fort Knox offers the most extensive warranty in the industry. Not only does it cover burglary, burglary attempts, fire, flood and incidental damage, it also covers the lock and paint, two items usually excluded by other manufacturers. So, compare our warranty to the competition - there is a difference! See our written warranty for complete details
